Help Raise $10,000 for Hurricane Harvey Relief
Sudsy’s Car Wash has embarked on a local campaign they’re calling, “Flood Texas with Love”. The goal is to raise $10,000 to be used in the Hurricane Harvey disaster relief effort.
Sudsy’s will be donating $1 from every paid individual premium car wash during the month of September and accepting additional donations at each site and online. While the goal of $10,000 for the two-location, family-owned car wash is aggressive, the owners, management, and employees felt like they had to do something significant to help those whose lives have been shattered by the storm. “Our hearts have been broken as we’ve watched the stories of individuals, families and whole communities devastated by Harvey,” says owner Troy VanLiere. “The personal convictions we have as Christ-followers and the values our business was built on demand that we respond by loving our neighbors in a real and tangible way.”
Samaritan's Purse U.S. Disaster Relief
We will be giving 100% of the money collected to Samaritan's Purse U.S. Disaster Relief. Samaritan's Purse currently has two disaster relief units in Texas to help residents as they continue to struggle with rain, flooding, and destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey. Soon they will have a total of five of these tractor trailers in the state, setting up volunteer bases around Victoria, Rockport/Portland, Galveston/Santa Fe, and two in Houston.
About Samaritan's Purse: Samaritan's Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. They often stay behind after the initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families. Learn more at about their U.S. Disaster Relief work by clicking here.
